2011 WALT "Rita's Crown" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

Rita’s Crown is a powerful example of the Sta. Rita Hills appellation.  The light calcareous chalky soils lend a distinctive aroma and flavor profile to the wine. With extremely limiting soils, this high elevation vineyard produces small vines that struggle, leading to small clusters with tiny berries. The resulting wine is concentrated, rich, and has great depth.
