2012 HALL "Diamond Mountain District" Cabernet Sauvignon
$160.00Members only
Nestled in the northwestern hillsides of Napa Valley, the DMD is sparsely planted, with fewer than 550 acres under vine. This warm hillside appellation is perfect for ripening Cabernet Sauvignon, the prevalent variety of the area. With porous, volcanic-derived soils, the vines produce distinctively earthy, chocolate-laced flavors, wrapped around rich, opulent tannins.

"The other wine from Hall's Artisan Collect ion is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain District . A simpler, backward, foreboding style of Cabernet Sauvignon, the mountain elevation gives the wine more structure, masculinity and tannin. The color is a dense purple, the wine less forthcoming and showy compared to the other cuvees from Kathryn Hall, but still impressive. Rich, full-bodied and built for 15-20 years of longevity."
